00:01:23--> 00:01:24

as to what follows

00:01:26--> 00:01:40

my dear brothers and sisters, Indians a great blessing from Allah subhanho wa Taala upon me to visit some of the oma Bristol it's my first trip here. And last night, we had

00:01:41--> 00:01:45

yesterday we had a long program, I must have lectured for

00:01:47--> 00:02:00

six hours as a minimum yesterday, and we had a long program in the evening. And Subhanallah when we woke up this morning, my voice disappeared, and I had to cancel the afternoon program.

00:02:01--> 00:02:24

And we thought let's leave the bristal program open even if I go there was no voice at least I can meet the president but when he laid around six o'clock, or 630 some voice came out. Let's pray last inshallah we have some more programs to complete here in the southwest. So we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to return the voice back.

00:02:27--> 00:03:15

Indeed, I am grateful to Allah subhanho wa Taala for this opportunity for it is one of my hobbies to meet the Mohammed sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and indeed you are from the Mohammed sallallahu alayhi wasallam and that is why it's always exciting to go for hjem to go for Allah because Allah subhanho wa Taala gathers a lot of the oma in just one place. So I'm grateful to Allah subhanho wa Taala and I thank you all for attending. And affording me this opportunity. And I'm also grateful to idea and our brothers for was and Daniel, Allah subhanho wa Taala preserve them and us all in his obedience. I mean, for this invite and making this trip a reality. ask Allah subhanho wa Taala from the outset,

00:03:15--> 00:03:40

to make this a gathering that is beloved to Allah subhanho wa Taala a gathering that has not come together except for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala a gathering that is forgiven upon his departure and a gathering that will reunite many, many a time in this world, as well as in the year after starting underneath our show of Allah subhanho wa Taala now that you have

00:03:42--> 00:03:58

Indeed Allah subhanho wa Taala is upon Eva. This is a place of gathering, dear brothers and sisters. For we are in a house from the houses of Allah subhanho wa jal and we've come together to learn some of the inheritors of Hamlet sallallahu alayhi wasallam

00:03:59--> 00:04:04

and from that inheritance was lessons from the Quran that he taught salallahu alayhi wasallam

00:04:06--> 00:04:12

the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said but Mr. Mariko Murphy Bateman booty lakita Allah include Akita beliee

00:04:13--> 00:04:22

pseudo female beta in mesilla Valley he was Sakina Wahaha tumor Rama

00:04:23--> 00:04:29

have fled to Malacca with a Corolla with him and his head is in the

00:04:31--> 00:04:56

dumps said that there's no group of people who come together in a house from the houses of Allah subhanho wa Taala. Yet to know Nikita Bala they recite the book of Allah subhanho wa Taala. Whether there should have been home and they between themselves they learn lessons from this book, except that Allah causes contentment to fall upon them subhana wa sakeena and causes

00:04:57--> 00:04:58

mercy to engulf them.

00:05:00--> 00:05:04

And causes the angels to descend and surround them.

00:05:05--> 00:05:12

And Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions this gathering to those that are with Allah subhanho wa Taala. Now

00:05:13--> 00:05:24

imagine Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioning you by name, and you by name, and you by me to the angels, and those that are Allah subhanho wa Taala How amazing is that? How special is that?

00:05:25--> 00:06:12

If we knew that a president or the queen, or a prince, or a king, mentioned us by name, and praised us by name, how pleased would we be? Imagine Allah subhanho wa Taala remembering us by name, we have also had a hotel except from us. A member show Can you elaborate la la, the famous Yemeni scholar. He says that this hadith mentions a house from the houses of Allah. However, this mentioned Karachi Maharaja meaning it was mentioned because the norm at the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is that these lessons would take place in the masjid. However, this blessing is not confined only to those lessons in the masjid. It also encompasses those lessons that take place outside of

00:06:12--> 00:06:32

the masjid, at a conference venue, for example, or at a community hall for example. And nowadays we have a we live in the age of it. And we have virtual classrooms. So even those lessons, as our shakes it, but they have it a whole lot. He says even these classrooms

00:06:34--> 00:06:46

and those that study in it, the poor iron and lessons from the Quran, for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala stands to gain from the benefits stated in this Headey Allah subhanho wa Taala except from us.

00:06:48--> 00:06:55

But your brothers and sisters, this toy is called make your mark. And it began yesterday in Bath.

00:06:56--> 00:07:04

In terms of the lecture specific to make your mark look the other lectures. And we started off with a topic called

00:07:05--> 00:07:32

the importance of having a vision. And there was a lot that I wanted to share with the brothers yesterday, but I think the talks bad 90 minutes plus we have to end because when we talk about the vision, these are matters especially for those who are involved in strategic planning and this field of leadership and visioning. You know that it takes at least two days to teach people about visioning, and that also is in a slightly quick manner.

00:07:33--> 00:07:46

But nonetheless, a lecture series titled Make Your Mark must start with this topic called the vision. And in summary, we told the brothers and sisters,

00:07:48--> 00:07:51

about the importance of becoming a high net worth individual.

00:07:52--> 00:08:04

And we set the paradigm right, that high net worth not in terms of financial standing in material well being but high net worth in terms of your impact with regards to matters of the hereafter.

00:08:05--> 00:08:14

So that was the theme that was set. And we said that from the sunon of Allah subhanho wa Taala is that everything has a purpose.

00:08:15--> 00:08:47

And that it is disrespectful to say that we were created without any purpose, or to believe that you have a purpose but behave as if you don't have a purpose. This is disrespectful because this is a form of denial of an established son of Allah subhanho wa Taala. From the established ways of Allah subhanho wa Taala with regards to his creation, everything has a purpose. Nothing is done in vain. Allah created us to worship Him.

00:08:49--> 00:08:52

The purpose of creation has been set. And

00:08:54--> 00:09:46

we established with the brothers and sisters there, that as a Muslim, as a person who has declared the oneness of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And as a person who has accepted the prophecy of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam then understand that it is your right to be the best understand that you cannot be a member of this ummah, except that it is your right to be the best mediocracy is not a description of the Mohammed Abdullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Allah subhanho wa Taala spoke about the Sahaba of the Allahu Akbar and declared them as Cairo matino. Clearly, that's the best of people. Why? Because they were people of action. They proved through action, that they knew this

00:09:46--> 00:09:54

concept of having a purpose on Earth. They weren't here just to eat and just to play as

00:09:55--> 00:09:59

the livestock and the animals do. They don't have a purpose.

00:10:00--> 00:10:09

They work based on the whims and fancies and desires. And, as Allah subhanho wa Jalla declared the disbelievers he or Kowloon, were

00:10:10--> 00:10:22

commanded to adapt to the law, they eat, and they play just as the animals do. There's no they don't behave as if they have a purpose. As if there's

00:10:24--> 00:11:13

reason behind this creation. And there's a ends that's going to come, that will substantiate the purpose of us being here on the face of the earth today. It is your right to be the best. And we explained to the brothers yesterday and sisters, that Allah subhanahu Adana, he gave us the best book, via the best agent to the best Prophet, and revealed it in the best month. And on the best night Ramadan and a little further, and in the best language, the Arabic language, and in the best of places muckety muck. And in this book, he declared this the best of all nations. So if Allah subhanho wa Taala prioritized for this the best, why should we ever settle for anything less than

00:11:13--> 00:11:14

the best.

00:11:15--> 00:11:19

And this is my message to the different universities that Allah blesses me to visit.

00:11:20--> 00:11:28

And to the different schools that Allah subhanho wa Taala blesses me to visit, that we're not saying everybody should become a chef, or a scholar.

00:11:29--> 00:11:53

But we say become the best that you can be whatever you do, and start by being the best Muslim. Because that's the description that encompasses everybody, irrespective of your level of knowledge, become the best declare of Allah subhanho wa Taala as one ministers fix your class in year two, and become the best declare of the prophesy sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, let's adhere to

00:11:54--> 00:12:08

and become not just any pharmacist, but the best pharmacist. And not just any doctor, but the best doctor. And not just any engineer, but the best engineer, your site should be much more eloquent

00:12:09--> 00:12:43

and much more delicate than your fellow classmates. This is the reality, the bar should be set much higher. So para la. Michelangelo once said that the defect is not in setting high goals and not achieving it, the defect is in setting low goals and achieving it. Because when you set those low goals and you achieve it, that is what defines you, and you become relaxed after that. You don't work harder. There is no next day, you've achieved what you've said.

00:12:44--> 00:12:46

And when I was growing up,

00:12:47--> 00:13:26

my father used to always tell me in the sky, even if you hit the clouds, but don't aim, the clouds aim higher. And today, that message has evolved. Because we see in leadership books, they say don't even say the sky is the limit. When there's footprints on the moon, when there's footprints on the moon, the sky shouldn't be the limit anymore, you can go much higher. So this is generally the theme of Make Your Mark sevens of Allah, no children of Adam, now we are recording the series. And yesterday we spoke about visions and for those who will inshallah, watch the videos when they become available. One of the things I wanted to share with the brothers and sisters regarding the vision,

00:13:26--> 00:14:06

I'm not going to discuss the vision because that took long. But something that I wanted to say, which we never got to say was that the vision we didn't discuss is the framework behind all our actions and all our actions are mission. The vision is the end whilst everything we do is the means to the end. So being a person of purpose requires you to have a vision, what's the legacy you want to leave behind. And when you understand that legacy, everything you do has a purpose, it becomes a means to that end, it should never be that we asked a university student, why are you studying a specific specialization? And he says because I enjoy it. That is what an answer. What if you know

00:14:06--> 00:14:21

more enjoyment? What if it is no more enjoyable? What happens if, as part of the degree program, you have to be starved for two days in the week? It's no more enjoyable. Will you continue the specialization? They'll probably say no.

00:14:22--> 00:14:59

There has to be substance behind everything that we do. When you tell me you studying a particular degree, I want to know why what is going to keep you studying it even when it becomes ugly. What is going to keep you in the program. Even if the workload becomes unbearable, what is going to keep you doing it. There has to be an end that this leads to but if you make stunning the degree the end, this is the defect. This is the problem. This makes us stagnant. People who waste time, because after two years when it's no more enjoyable, as we told them

00:15:00--> 00:15:15

Brothers and sisters in Bothell, we discussed the vision, you want to change your specialization. But you know what the problem is, you wasted two years of your country's resource, or of your parents resources for the fees that they paid for your education. And you wasted a greater resource, which is two years of your life.

00:15:16--> 00:15:19

So when you have a vision, you make the right decisions.

00:15:21--> 00:16:00

You make the right decisions, always. Because in everything you do, you seeing the end, there's line of sight as we say, management, right, or as it is said in management. My background is not management. But as it is said, in the works of management that there has to be line of sight. Right? in an organization, there's line of sight between the different, different departments, otherwise, it's going to be chaos, right? So we sometimes cause chaos in our lives. Why? Because we just move it around without perspective and handled as Muslims. I said, it's our right to be the best. And Allah subhanho data, in the macro setting has at least set our vision. And that is entry into

00:16:00--> 00:16:39

gender. The highest gender as Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Don't just ask for any gender, but also the highest one to panela. Remember, we spoke just now about setting higher aims not lower, but any gender, but the highest gender. This is the teacher from habits Allahu alayhi wa sallam. Right, and for those who attended yesterday, we said this, that all this whole discussion of visions and missions and objectives and goals and planning, and so on and so forth. This was the prophetic message taught by Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and it's not his fault that you might have learned about it in western books today. But the credit goes back to him, had Allah

00:16:40--> 00:16:47

Subhana Allah Allah, he was a visionary. And we showed some examples yesterday. So this was the message in a nutshell,

00:16:49--> 00:17:04

that we covered yesterday, brothers and sisters. And it's important that we bring that summary in why because this concept of having a vision will always be the theme, irrespective of what we discuss, when we talk about being a high net individual. So

00:17:05--> 00:17:24

the message that I wanted to share yesterday that I didn't get around to talk about regarding the vision is that it houses our visions, everything we do this line of sight, everything we do this line of sight. So Islam has the vision in general to Filipinos in having a place underneath the arms of Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:17:26--> 00:17:36

Getting our books on deeds in our right hands, that's everything we do should be admission to that. The reason why you hear now is because this is a mission.

00:17:37--> 00:17:45

There's an end behind you being here, there's an outcome you wish to get from the city. It's not one hour or two hours of just wasting my time.

00:17:46--> 00:17:48

And if that's your case,

00:17:49--> 00:18:24

you won't be found in the cinema, for example. Because is that a mission that leads to your vision? No, he won't be found in the discord. Because is that a mission that leads to your vision? No, you become a person of basura not of sight. But inside, you become a person, not of television, but vision. Right? There's always a line of sight behind everything you do, even the spouse that you bury. You have clarity. Many of these today they go for the special meeting, when they're looking to get married.

00:18:26--> 00:18:34

And they don't even know what to ask. They asking you what should they ask how can you ask me? What should you ask? Am I marrying her? are you marrying her?

00:18:36--> 00:18:52

And the simple cause of these of this particular question is because this person doesn't know who he is or who she is and who they not. They haven't found themselves. They don't know what legacy they want to leave how they want to be remembered when they pass away.

00:18:53--> 00:19:04

What they want to see when they're on their deathbed, because they don't know that they're getting married to submission as well. It's a means to an end. Right? It's not an end in and of itself.

00:19:08--> 00:19:10

This was the message yesterday and this is the summary in a nutshell.
