Ramadan 2014 – Day 22 – Al Abbaas and Abud Dardaa

Salam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato.

smilla rahmanir rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa Salatu was Salam O Allah Ashraf al anbiya wa l mursalin Nabina Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi Germain we praise Allah subhanho wa Taala we send blessings and salutations upon Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, his household and all his companions. May Allah bless them all. And may He bless every single one of us. May He grant us all goodness, and may He opened the doors of goodness and close all the doors of evil. And may Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us multiplication in the goodness that we have. And may He allow that to continue through our offspring as well. I mean, my beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, this

evening, we will be speaking about one of the uncles of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam, who was similar in age to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and who grew up together with Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, yet he only accepted Islam much later, who was this uncle? His name was abass even though Abdul muttalib you all know that Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam his lineage Mohammed Abdullah Abdullah Ibn Abdul muttalib. So sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he was the son of Abdullah, who was the son of Abdul muttalib Abdul muttalib had married a woman called Nutella. Nutella, that's quite easy to remember. us like a little chocolate Nutella, Subhana Allah, Allah grant us ease. So he married a woman called Nutella and she gave birth to a boy whom they had called Allah bus. So he was al Abbas ibn Abdullah McCollum. And at the same time, two years later,

his brother had a child called Muhammad. But the sad part of that birth was the fact that he was born an orphan. So although it was the greatest thing to ever have happened in creation, the birth of Muhammad Sallallahu sallam, but Abdulmutallab was saddened because his son had passed away, unable to have seen his own son, which means the grandchild.

So he brought up the son or he helped in the upbringing together with the mother, Amina Binti. And what happened is, they grew up together al Abbas Ibn Abdul muttalib, and Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. They played together, they loved each other, and they grew up to a great degree together. And as they grew up, we all know that they came a time when Prophethood came to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. But why did al Abbas who was so close to Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam not accept that immediately, although he says in his heart, that I knew that the man was telling the truth, and I knew him because he was a nephew but as good as a brother Subhana Allah so much so that they used to

ask him or abass who is bigger you are Muhammad Sallallahu sallam, he used to say, Muhammad is much bigger. But I am just two years older in age Subhana Allah, this was a beautiful way of answering who is bigger he says he's much bigger. But if you want to count the years, I'm two years older than him. SubhanAllah and this proves that it does not mean that because you are older, you are greater in the eyes of Allah subhanho wa Taala. There could be those who are younger, who are far higher in the eyes of Allah subhanho wa Taala than those who are older. May we take a lesson from this. And that was proof enough that it should be Abdulmutallab. So

they gave it to his son, his son, Alibaba, so he was in charge. He had a big position in Porush very high position and post, they respected him. Because of that post. They had protected Mohammed Salah Salaam, to the degree that the day that the people of Medina had come in a group of more than 70 to pledge the second allegiance of Aqaba, during the time of Hajj in Minar. abuzz about the Allahu anhu later to be known as he joined Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam when Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam went to agree with them regarding the Hydra, so al Abbas was the one who spoke to the people of Raj and he told them Oh, people have coverage. And then he says to them, there was a lot that he said but part of what he said was if you are ready to take the huge responsibility of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam and his companions, then only should you strike the deal with him. If not, do not be from amongst those who will break their promise. You say you will look after the man and you invite him to your place when he comes to you you dishonor him and disregard Him. So who spoke on behalf of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam his uncle, Al Abbas, who had been brought up with him. They had such a good relationship that when Abu Talib went through a difficult time, Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam and Al Abbas decided to

look after two of the three sons of Abu Talib, so Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam looked after Ali Vitali and Al Abbas looked after Jafar even a bit early because the father was going through some financial difficulty, and so on. This was an amazing relationship between Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And Al Abbas, although he was not yet a Muslim. Another unique sign of a brilliant relationship between them was the fact that when al Abbas had a child called Abdullah, and this was before the hegira.

He took him to Mohammed sallallahu alayhi wasallam to do the technique, and we spoke about it a few days ago. The technique is where a small portion of date is chewed by someone and placed into the mouth of the pellet of a newborn child. And it has benefit of iron, physical benefit as well as spiritual benefit. And this was done by Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam for the son of Al Abbas, whose name was Abdullah even a bus later to become known as the Great Sahabi. So at the time of the Battle of Babel, something interesting happened. It is reported that Al Abbas did not want to come out. He did not want to go and fight his own nephew and his friend Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam but because of his standing in Parish, he had to show face. So what he did is, he gathered a little bit of gold that he had, he gave it to his wife, whose name was Lou Baba bentall. So Mohammed salatu salam did not hear him anymore. So he was worried. He said, Why can I not hear al Abbas anymore? They said, No, His hands were very tight, tightly tied. So we loosen them a bit. Muhammad Salallahu Salam out of justice. He said, If you did that to the uncle of Muhammad, sallallahu alayhi wasallam It is only fair that you did that to all the other prisoners. Subhana Allah so he sent them back, and they had to loosen the hands of all of the prisoners in a way that they were not harmed. Then came the time to free some of these prisoners after a ransom was paid. So anyone who did not have anything, they were told, okay, you can teach 10 from amongst us how to read

and write and we will set you free. So here comes a bus, if nagda muttalib. And he looks at Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we can imagine what must have been going on there. And he says, Oh Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, I have nothing to give you. I have no wealth to give you. So Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam looks at him. And this was a miracle. In fact, Al Abbas Ibn Abdulmutallab sent a message to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam with details of the plans of the co founder of Quraysh when it came to ocean, and that helped the Muslim men to prepare a lot. So he helped them, although he was based in muckety, muck karma, but he did not take part in the other battles against Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And one day, 20 years after Prophethood

So something unique happened, something amazing happened. Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, Oh Allah bus. We are marching on to mccurtain, mocha Rama and we went

To know that you are the last person to make hegira because after victory, there is no more Hydra. The door of Hydra is shut, closed and cut. It is reported that he really assisted the Muslim cause in a very big way, and defended the messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Also something important that has happened in the life of Al Abbas Ibn Abdulmutallab. During the period of time of Omar Abu Dhabi,

Allahu anhu. They went through a drought, and that year was known as Amma Ramada the year of the dry spell. And Omar Abu Qatada. The Allahu anhu came out for his discard is this car meaning to ask for rain? They came out once. They did not get rain, they came out twice. They did not get rain then or merville whatever the law says, I'm going to bring out someone whom I know that Allah subhanho wa Taala will have mercy upon and grant us rain because of his presence. So Who was that man? The following day they called al Abbas Ibn Abdul muttalib, who was now quite old. He was an elderly man, Omar Abdullah and who brought him out to the place where they were calling out to Allah subhanho wa

Taala for him and asked him Oh Allah bus we want you to raise your hands and to ask Allah subhanho wa Taala for him and Omar Abu Dhabi, Allah who made the dua, Allah we are asking you with Al Abbas Ibn Abdul muttalib, the uncle of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam present in our midst with Alibaba Talib, Al Hassan al Husayn present in our midst to grant us rainfall. The date of birth was not yet complete, and the clouds are already formed and the rain began such that Subhanallah it was the end of the drought. May Allah subhanho wa Taala Have mercy on us, and May He grant us goodness, may Allah subhanho wa Taala assist us this great Sahabi great companion of Muhammad sallallahu

alayhi wa sallam he passed away

on a Friday 32 years after the hegira of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam approximate age of about 84 years and he is buried in Bakir. He passed away at the time of a man of near a friend of the Allahu anhu, who led the Salatu jhanas upon that man, and it was a very, very sad day.

The next hero we will be speaking about this evening, a very great man who was named after his daughter, there was a girl called a DA amazing. That's actually a girl's name under the Savannah law. His friend, a Buddha, even after he had accepted Islam, and Abu Dhabi, Allahu anhu, had not yet accepted Islam, Abdullah Abdullah, I used to speak to him and say, Oh, you are such a foolish person, you are so wise on one hand and foolish on the other. You are a sharp businessman, you have great intellect, you are engaging in business and you are striking deals that are very grand and great, but you are worshipping this idol of yours, it does not bring you any goodness, it cannot harm you, and so on. And the discussion used to continue and the two of them still had a friendship even after the acceptance of Islam of Abdullayev not Aha. So one day, when the Battle of butter took

door, crying when Abu Dhabi Allahu anhu came back, he was still not a Muslim. But he saw what happened. He asked her, she said this was your friend, your best mate Abdullayev? Nah, ha, he came in. And this is what he did. And he went away. So I was very, very angry. But then he looked at this scene in front of him. And he said, But hang on. This is a god, I worship it. I asked it for goodness, I used to think my business deals come to me because of this thing here. And look at it. It's lying here in pieces. It can't even help itself. And it can't even help me. And I keep on worshiping it. No ways this is totally wrong. So he calls up the live ma What did you do? He says I

knew your intellect. And I knew this would make you think so did you think he says Yes, I did. And what did you think? He says I think it's about time we follow Muhammad Allah, Allah, Allah, Solomon worship Allah and Allah alone. So he said, Let's go that is the day the two of them went to Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam after the Battle of butter, just as it ended, and he declared his Shahada, and it is reported that from amongst the people of hazaragi, he was the last one to actually enter Islam. I'm not saying it's prohibited to do business, but I try to strike the correct balance between this worldly material life and my religion and my preparation for the meeting with my maker, but I could not strike the balance. I had to quit one of the two In my

case, I am weak and I could not strike a balance. So I decided to quit this material life after I was a very big businessman. Which means don't get so lost in religion, that you actually trample over the rights of those around you and your own body and so on. That is not true religion. When you accept Islam, and when you follow Islam correctly, it should bring about a peace and the balance in your life. It should not make you such that you are on a seesaw heading only in one direction where you've forgotten the rights of others or you have forgotten them or you've usurped them. he became known as a very, very intelligent man. He was a person who was so wise, he worshipped Allah so much he mastered the Quran Subhana Allah, he was one of those who memorized it from cover to cover. He knew every verse there was and he knew where it fitted and what happened so much so that he was also one of those who contributed towards the gathering of the Quran. And to this day, you have poor earning schools that named after Abu Dhabi, Allah. May Allah subhanahu wa taala bless us, and May He grant us goodness and ease. May He make it easy for us to learn the Quran. They used to go to Abu Dhabi, Allah and and they used to ask him a lot of questions and they used to hear from

him one day.

He told some of the people who visited him that I seek the protection of Allah from having a scattered heart. So they told him what is a scattered heart. He says a person who has a business in every Valley, His heart is scattered, which means you have a business in this town, another one in that town, another one in that town, you have too many businesses, it's going to be very hard for you to concentrate on Allah because your concentration will be this business in that business. May Allah subhanahu wa taala grant us ease. It reminds me of the story of the man who corrected the Imam when the Imam had made only three record for Salah Tunisia and the congregation was sleeping meaning

they didn't even know but one man says I'm convinced that your Eman you've only read three record. So they said how

Do you know everyone else has this is not agreeing with you. He says, Look, I have four shops. And in every Raka I take a count of one shop. And tonight I only took a count of three shops and Salah was over. May Allah subhanho wa Taala Forgive us, Allah He with us. Something similar happens when the Imam says Allahu Akbar, the mind goes to somewhere else where we're going to go tomorrow. It's a weekend Mashallah the eat market is around the corner. What are we going to do here? And there are so many things, where are we going to go for eat, and everything comes to our minds and hearts. Yet we don't understand. Forget about all that concentrate. This is Salah, this is the plugin with Allah

Subhana Allah, Allah, may Allah make it easy for us. So

that was something unique again, a Buddha of the Allahu anhu.

It is reported that some visitors visited him. And they found

that it was very cold. They were sleeping the night, he gave them good hot food. But he did not give them blankets to cover themselves. So one is telling the other you know what he is sleeping in the next room, let's go and ask him for blankets. So the one says No, leave him It's okay. The third one says no, I will go and ask him. Subhana Allah, whatever you have in your hand, it was with someone before you, then it came to you. And soon it will be with someone else. So you are only a winner, if you can use it in order to prepare the real house. Because I have seen the people who built the houses in this world, they are resting in the grave, which they did not build.

What he means is people who build the houses, they built huge houses where they they went down into a grave and they forgot to build the grave which means to build for the ark era. So I don't want to make the same mistake. I want to use every opportunity that when I go go, I will have a real palace there for eternity. And people might be able to say he had nothing here but they he has everything Subhanallah my brothers and sisters, we can strike a bit of a balance at least we can draw a lesson. So, Allahu anhu began to cry. Because the Buddha says I think after Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam passed on we have forgotten

that in order to climb up to heaven, the one who has the least belongings will climb quicker than he who has a lot because you know, when you are climbing up, if you have heavy belongings, it's going to take a long, long time. And when you have very little, you will be able to climb so quickly.
