Da’wah Diagnostics – Episode 3

Santa Maria Kumara, Tamayo Baraka two brothers and sisters, welcome back to the third episode of the triple D series, also known as Devon's Dharma diagnostics. Okay, so what are we going to talk about today? Well, previously, we spoke a little bit about our amount of good actions. And we mentioned that actions are to be done for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala alone, and according to the shediac. But what does that mean? So we're now going to take the next step and drive into the realm of actions, good actions, bad actions, what type of actions can we perform. So we'll start off by talking about actions that are done for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala and actions that are

done for other than the sake of Allah. The actions that are done for a lesson will be rewarded accordingly on the Day of Judgment, as for the actions that are not done for the sake of Allah, they are actions that on the Day of Judgment are considered to be completely useless acts, if they are not done for the sake of a loss of handling to handle alone, they will not be rewarded on the Day of Judgment. And in fact, if we do it for other than Allah subhanho wa Taala, then we may be punished for it. And if we just do general good actions, but we don't believe in Allah subhana wa tada and we do not have the intention of doing this for Allah for the pleasure of Allah, then these actions will

go to waste and are completely useless in the sight of Allah subhana wa Donna on the Day of Judgment.

Now, we have to think of actions that are done outside of the norm of the shediac. So actions that are done without being in accordance to the laws that are set forth by Allah subhanho wa Taala. Now we can relate this to for example, a car during the winter.

Nowadays in Canada, and in many parts of the world, it is winter and as you can see here in beautiful Kuala Lumpur, you know, blue skies and sunny and um, you know, building up the sweat here, not because of the camera, but because of the heat outside is approximately 4042 degrees Celsius. Now in Canada and other parts of the world, they're experiencing winter, the cold of the winter, and a lot of people opt for buying cars that are, for example running on diesel engines rather than gas or petrol for those of you that live in Europe and other parts of the world that call it petrol.

Now, the difference between putting diesel into a car that is actually made for petrol or gasoline will be reflected upon in the performance of the car. And in some vehicles, the car will not even start or may not even run. So what happens when you pump a different type of fuel into the car is that the car doesn't perform properly and it rejects that fuel. Similarly, if you perform actions that are outside of Islam, or that are innovations new in Islam, or newly introduced that are not according to the Sharia, then those actions are rejected by Allah subhana wa tada just as pumping diesel into a petrol car that doesn't go into accordance with the user's manual. So you have to

follow the user's manual when driving a car. Similarly, you have to use the user's manual of a Muslim of a mortman which is

the book of Allah subhana wa, which I have. Now we move on to the second point. The second point deals with doing different types of good actions. Now all around this we can see many things that we can do that are good actions. For example, this railing looks fairly dirty right now. So if I were to clean it, I may get rewards if I do it for the sake of Allah subhana wa Tada, pleasing the owner of the building. Similarly in Islam, if we do different actions that are pleasing to Allah subhanho wa Taala then we will be rewarded accordingly. And we will get into the different types of actions as time goes on in later videos. But for today, we want to talk about the difference in actions. And

I'm going to relate that back to the automobile for example, as I seemingly always do, since I am an automotive technician. If you were to drive around in minus 40 degrees Celsius, with your car that has windshield wipers on it made for the summer,

those windshield wipers will not do justice in the middle of winter. And the same thing in summer when you have those clunky, chunky old, you know, winter windshield wipers on your car. And you're driving in the summer it doesn't look nice and then you try and clean the windshield they don't really clean very well because they're not flexible as they're not as flexible as summer when

You have wipers. So choosing the right windshield wiper, choosing the right arm, choosing the right actions. All of these tie into the theme that we're discussing presently which is choosing the correct actions or doing actions different type of actions that are good to Allah subhana wa tada and pleasing to Allah subhanho wa Taala. And why do we do these good actions, we do them in order to seek this link in order to seek the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala and to make us closer to him, and by doing these good actions, we also spread goodness and higher amongst the Ummah and also amongst the world. So others that are around us will benefit from seeing us do these actions and be

inspired by it. And therefore, we can spread goodness amongst others, wherever we are in the world, regardless of the temperature regardless of the season. And no, my brothers and sisters and my friends and family that are out in the freezing cold weather of Canada and other parts of the world right now are probably thinking while so handler doubt is just living it up on his balcony. This is the background of my balcony. And yeah hamdulillah it's beautiful out here.
