In the last couple of sessions, we've been talking about the second year of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam as residents in the city of Medina, what we call the second year of higit. Ah, this is the second year of the

prophets a lot. He said I'm settling in Medina and giving firm roots to the Muslim community in the city of Medina. So now this is the headquarters This is the base of operations. This is where everything is happening from everything is going on. Now, in the course of this what we talked about, we of course covered the first year, we're into the second year, we're about halfway a little bit past the halfway mark of the second year in the city of Medina, there's been a couple of very, very important events, mainly the first three what we call because a lot. The first three prophetic campaigns have taken part here in the first part of the second year of higit. All were the prophets,

a lot of them alongside, you know, many of these companions radi Allahu Allah on the Sahaba may Allah be pleased with them. They've traveled outside of Medina, and they've engaged with different groups and different tribes and some of the Bedouin people that live around the vicinity in the area of the city of Medina. Now, in last week's session, we talked about a very interesting event. And this is a very, very, very important event because it leads to what we know as one of the most landmark events in Islamic history. And that is the Battle of button. Nevertheless, what happened as a response to that was, the propaganda machine started to turn in Mecca, and the mccanns in the Quran, basically use this as an opportunity to launch a whole propaganda and a whole campaign against the Muslims that look, nothing is sacred to Mohammed, nothing is sacred to these Muslims, they will violate everything sanctified, everything that is sacred in our lives. If we let these people have their way, look, they killed a person in the sacred months. They did this. Now, Allah subhanaw taala, of course, issued the response, divinely, that Allah subhanaw taala does say yes, revealed to the Prophet sallallahu sallam. Yes aluna Anisha Hari

Now going forward after the incident of Abdullah bin geohash, we are now in the month of Rajab, the month of Rajab, then obviously, it's a month of Siobhan and then the month of Ramadan, the Battle of butter occurs in the month of Ramadan. And we'll be talking about it as we proceed through the calendar, the chronology of the serum. Right now we're in the month of Rajab, now there's a little bit of a difference of opinion, the next major event that takes place is called the Qibla. The turning of the direction of the prayer. That is the next major event in Islamic history that occurs in the second year of Egypt, the second year of the prophets, a lot of reasons residents in the city

of Medina, there's a difference of opinion amongst the historians and amongst the scholars of Sita. Whether the turning of the peddler occurred in the month of Rajab, or it occurred in the month of Shaban, there's a little bit of a difference of opinion. Many of the scholars of Sita, who came a little bit later obviously the earlier scholars of Sita are folks like even his hoc, even he Sham alacati, I'll be happy so on so forth, even cathedra himolla huta Allah who is again another authoritative scholar of, of history in this era, but he comes a little bit afterwards and that's why he, a lot of times will filter through a lot of their narrations and, you know, confirm and

reaffirm and kind of reconcile some of the different durations. Even Kathy Rahim Allahu taala. His assessment is that the fact that it occurred in the month of Shabbat is a little bit more authoritative. There's more evidence pointing to the fact that it occurred in the month of Shabbat. The evidence that points to the fact that it occurred in the month of Rajab is there are some narrations where some of the Sahaba say that the Qibla changed the Qibla turned in 16 or 17 months after the prophets a lot asylums arrival in the city of Medina. And when you when you estimate when you calculate 1617 months you land basically in a month of Rajab, but even Kathy says, they're

basically guesstimating they're kind of averaging it out. It was something like like we would say, it was a

But there are specific narrations would say the month of Shabbat. And that's basically what we will refer to as well, that the Qibla change in the month of Shabbat. I'll walk Ed, who is another historian and a scholar of the cedaw. He's a source of the cedaw.

He has a very interesting narration that is not very strong and authentic. But he pinpoints the exact day. He says that it occurred in the middle of the month of Siobhan on it on a Tuesday. He gets that specific error occurred on a Tuesday, in the middle of the month of Siobhan but even Kathy says that stretching it Buffy has a dandini novel. He says that making it that specific is not correct. It's not authentic. Nevertheless, in the middle of the month of Siobhan, what occurs. He was reviving the middle of Ibrahim, he was at the city and the place that was founded by Ibrahim, the prophet from autism had this longing. He was a responsive to Dr. Ibrahim. Alright, so he had this longing to pray in the direction of Ibrahim, and that was Gabba Baitullah and Masood Haram in Makkah. Now, while the prophets a lot of these him resided in Mecca, there was no problem. It was very simple. It was very easy. The solution was right there in front of him literally. And that was the prophets a lot. He seldom used to stand in front of the garbage

while still being aligned with beta mark this because he has a carbon right here right he can stand on any side of the Kaaba and pray. He did what Allah told him to do. But the ahaadeeth mentioned their narrations in the Muslim Ummah, Muhammad, and even in the Sahih Hadith in Bukhari and Muslim. There are narrations which tell us that the prophets a lot of these women continued to make dua and ask Allah to grant him permission to be able to pray towards the Kaaba in Mecca.

He kept making dua, and the Prophet somebody said was very hopeful we kind of learned a little bit about the etiquette of da you know how hopeful the Prophet sallallahu Sallam was that it would be accepted sooner or later, it would be accepted. There's an incident again, we've already talked about this, if you recall, that when some of the early people the early Muslims from Medina, the bay bay Atilla acaba, Athenaeum the second time that the Muslims from Medina to Bay I gave the oath of allegiance to the prophets a lot, he said, and when that incident took place, there was an elder of the people of Medina, an elder of yesterday an elder of Medina, a leader of their tribe, very

elderly man, like almost to the point where he was kind of like, you know, like a really old person somewhat senile even. Right. And so he was traveling to Makkah from Medina. Right and there was a whole group of Muslim travel like 6070 something Muslims were traveling, and on the way there whenever time for Salah would come because in the shower Mirage has already happened. And wasabi namita has been teaching them how to pray. So they used to pray. So while they were traveling, they would stop and they were offered Salah. And they were taught they were told especially because they lived in Medina, they were trained, you pray towards Betamax this praying towards Mecca praying

towards the Kaaba was not even an option that was on the table. So when they would stop and they would pray, this old man says no, I ain't gonna pray in that direction. I ain't gonna do it.

I'm gonna pray towards the Kaaba in Mecca. I just, I just know it in my heart. I'm gonna do this. And the reason why I mentioned specifically was a very elderly man, cuz people tried to kind of explain to him like, I move on, go, come on, please. We got everybody turn just a little bit. Join everybody in Salaam Bismillah. And he's an only me alone. Don't tell me what to do. Right? And that was it. That was the end of that. And he's like, I'm gonna and he's praying in a complete opposite direction for the rest of the drama. Like I don't care what people are doing. I'm going to pray in this direction. Then they get to Mecca.

Now when they get to Mecca, he says he narrates it himself, the elderly man he says I felt kind of guilty. I felt kind of bad. And he got to meet the prophets a lot even before all the other Muslims of Medina got to meet the process. And because he was such an elder leader of his tribe that he was friends with Ibis, the uncle of the prophets, a lot of stuff. So he goes and meets our boss and he says, Why don't you make introductions between me and your nephew?

So he got kind of an in a boss, the uncle of the process. And then of course, promises I'm like, island was Island might have been, right. This is his, um, this is his uncle. And then he says, Well, I wanted to introduce you to this elder of his people, full of new food on and then he sits down and he basically says jasola Lai, Muslim unbeliever? I got a little bit of a question. I got a little bit of a question.

This is what I did. I prayed in the other direction. The prophets, a lot of them told them look, the command of Allah right now is that you pray towards Beit democritus

So as they started to pray officer, one of the companions of the prophets a lot he sent him goes out to the people of New Selma to inform them. The problem is that by the time he reaches the place of the new salema they've already started answer prayer.

They've already started praying, awesome. So the narration says that the messenger, he basically walks in, and he proclaims, he sees them all praying in the in the opposite direction.

And so he walks in and he claims he says, I shall do Billa

So that implies that he prayed to us and with the promises and he went out there and he caught them still praying awesome. And you understand and realize that you are praying in the wrong direction, you can actually turn within your prayer. we extrapolate from that.

So they all turned within their prayer and started praying in the right direction. And that incidents, the masjid ibnu salema, is basically the machine that we know today. And a machine that many times people visit when they go to Medina today, as much as possible attain.

If you ever go for aamra hygiene, you go to the mercy of the prophets a lot each time you go to visit the city of Medina, and you go and you see the machine commerce chain.

Right, that's the machine where this incident took place. But that wasn't the only incidents.

Obama was a little bit outside of Medina. And basically since this happened at ossur time, right, and

I'm going to skip over a lot of details, but a lot of talks about the very difficult situations in the life of the prophets, a lot of them were the prophets. Eventually things don't work out. And they do separate and they do get divorced. And in seminary, it talks about a couple of years later.
